There are murmurs of pending London snow... so I’m posting this in protest.
Come on, Spring! This is your call to action🕺🏼.
This pic was taken last April by @steffi_daydreamer, and I for one CAN NOT WAIT for the upcoming insta bonanza that is #wisteriawatch...
I recently had a bit of a shopping splurge at @ASOS and filled my basket with all things maternity, which was really, REALLY fun. It’s a completely different mentality, buying clothes to last just a few months, when usually I’d be carefully assessing how many years I’d likely get wear out of things. The best bit was that through spending my pennies there, I gathered points which bought me a chai latte at @CafféNero. This isn’t some kind of crazy magic trick, it’s actual points mean prizes stuff. And if you want to find out how I did it, just click on the link in my bio and you’ll be whizzed over to the Poppy mothership that is my blog. See you there, team ;) #pointsmeanprizes #rewardyourself #rewardingwardrobe #ad

Which one are you?
Chiswick cottages are straight out of a storybook. I wandered these back streets around Ravenscourt Park yesterday, before popping into @naturalmatuk to marvel at their showroom and have a snooze in their ‘Sleep Zone’. If you’re in the market for a new mattress and the words natural, organic, handmade (in Devon!) and naturally hypoallergenic are music to your ears, then whizz down to Chiswick forthwith! (You can still catch my visit on stories...) And fyi, their Sleep Zone is where you can lie down in private in a haze of lavender & eucalyptus, with the lights dimmed low and the sound of waterfalls & birdsong gently enveloping you... I may have to visit every day for my daily fix... 💤😴🛏
‘Ouses wot need ‘aircuts.
Take me back to The Laslett 💛💛💛
Storybook London, by @georgianlondon... There simply MUST be a Mrs Fitzwiggle residing in this street. Or I shall eat my hat.
In other news, it looks like I’ll be back in Walthamstow and home again in around 2 weeks, after living with family in zone 27 since October... Excited doesn’t even begin to cut it. That leaves me around 1 week for post-build dusting and then a couple of months before our new person arrives. Might be time to start making a list? *writes down nappies*.
This year, for the first time, I made a conscious call to get out of the UK in January and chase the sunshine ☀️☀️☀️.
We took off from Gatwick as snow started to fall and landed, 4 hours later, in the Canaries in 25-degree heat 🌴.
Immediately I felt my mind melt, my body relax and I knew that I had made the right decision. We spent just one-week basking in the glorious sunshine, indulging in delicious food & beach walks. Seven days was all I needed to recharge my invisible batteries and come home to beautiful, chilly London, ready to embrace everything about the winter here, which I also love and cherish 💛 This was also the last time we’d be able to get away together for a while, as there is a new little human on the way (eeek!) so it made the escape (and it was an escape) even more special. I loved it. And I now know that whenever I can (although it might not be for a little while now!) I’ll be hunting down these kinds of January blues.
Here’s the good bit - because I used my American Express® Card, I was rewarded for my spending just like I am when I’m at home, meaning I can whizz off to sunnier climes again sooner than I thought. Hurrah.

As you were 😘.
I spy Spring 👀.
**COMPETITION!!** 🎈🙌🏼✨ You may remember me raving about the new milk chocolate pralines from @greenandblacks… well lookie here at what I may or may not have been guzzling while doing a spot of gardening. These new chocs are really pretty special and will make the PERFECT Valentine’s treat. Silky smooth, dreamy AND hazelnutty crunchy. It’s a proper praline crush. YOU AND A PAL CAN WIN SOME FOR YOURSELVES👭👫👬 Just tag a chum in the comments (one tag per comment & no more than 5 comments) and the folk at G&B will select a winner at random. Ends 15th Feb. Good luck, team 😘😘😘#mykindofgardening #greenandblacks #greenandblackspraline #bemyvalentine #ad
Sometimes, you need a little reminder to stop and do something that’s just for you and makes you feel wonderful. Thank you @thisisheart, for challenging me to do just that. John Legend and I got along famously, although he did keep stealing the bubbles… ;) Hop on over to my blog to read all about me, my mini me and taking a moment, just for us. #HeartFeelGoodChallenge #ad (the blog post includes a link to @mamamioskincare’s Liquid Yoga and you’re going to want to buy it in bulk👊🏼 Link in profile)
When pregnant, put on maternity jim jams, cashmere socks, drink (decaf) tea and eat all the chocolate.
@greenandblacks have only gone and launched milk and dark chocolate pralines, which taste out of this world (fact) are small enough that you can eat several without feeling naughty (fact again) and which I may have become addicted to. This is my tummy. And it is currently 50% baby, 30% tea and I’d say approaching 20% Green & Black’s. There are crunchy whole hazelnuts hidden in each chocolate and they taste completely divine. LM is more a dark choccy guy, but I’m currently all about the milk choc. Cannot. Get. Enough. *Puts on Valentine’s wish list* (*Also puts on birthday wishlist*) Now please excuse me. As you can see I am very busy. #greenandblacks #greenandblackspraline #bemyvalentine #ad
Convinced that Gene Kelly is about to burst forth from the telephone box...
When you start to see hydrangeas appearing, you know Spring got the memo... she’ll be on the next bus to London 🌸🌺🌸

Still such a beauty.
I love how the city shines...
Thank you, @liolaliola for the gorgeous snap 💛☔️🌨
I don’t smoke and I barely drink (just don’t really like it that much)… BUT chocolate mousse has long been a vice of mine, since I was teeny tiny. (In age - I’m still pretty short). It’s always been a naughty treat, but one I can’t get enough of. So my discovery of Ooola Secrets has well and truly knocked my choccy moussey socks off. They are DIVINE with little hidden secrets inside (cheeky caramel and chocolate chips…) They are a proper indulgent treat, with quality ingredients (which you can taste) and less than 90 calories a pop. (Snack maths = I CAN EAT MORE). I can’t think of a sweeter way to start celebrating the promise of Spring. Flower pressing and chocolate mousse guzzling? I am actually IN heaven. #OoolaSecrets #ShareThemOrNot #ad
If you hop on the Metropolitan line at Baker St, you’ll be gently chugged all the way to #Amersham, where you can escape the hum drum for the day, explore the cobbled courtyards and sip tea by roaring fires in The Crown. It’s blimmin freezing here in London today, so let’s haul ourselves over there in our long-johns and order all the sticky toffee pud. #londonescapes
When I was small I believed (very strongly) that behind every corner, were fairies.
They were probably having some kind of party. Or meeting. Or wing repairing session. But you'd never see them, as when you went round the corner, they'd already scarpered around the next. (Very clever).
The more corners, the more fairies... and so you'll be pleased to know that London is jam packed full of them. ✨ #prettycitylondon #ibelieveinfaries
It’s all a bit Monday today.
Bran flakes for the win.
Then I’m going to bury myself in my laptop for a few hours...
Then tea again.
And probably again.
Mewsing about London with a lovely snap from @annaricketts... Have a wonderful weekend, all 😘✨
Happy Friday, folks.
We made it 👊🏼.
Thank you for the super pic @alleksana 😘
The wind last night! 💨🌪 I expected London to be flattened this morning... but no. It’s still there.
When I was small, I remember being unbearably disappointed at the lack of clowns in Piccadilly Circus.
Later in life I had to come to terms with the fact that there would never be any coaches or horses at The Coach and Horses.
London is very confusing.
If you were following along on stories yesterday, you’d have seen me guzzling my way through a 6 course tasting menu at @chefjarv’s excellent @anglorestaurant in #Clerkenwell, just off Leather Lane.
- Halibut with vanilla, turnip & pear -
The 6 course tasting menu is £40 and I’m already plotting to go back... join me?
A gorgeously long Friday lunch must be accompanied by fabulous company. (✅- @gourmet_guy @annabarnettcooks @eatnlondon @angelacoomey @mondomulia).
Thank you for the invitation, Anglo! 😘
Dear Instagram... What do you think are the most special, unusual & romantic things to do in one day in London, if you already know the city very well? Does anyone have some off-the-beaten-track ideas up their sleeve? 👀
“I’ll be seeing you in all those familiar places”.
London, you had me at No Traffic.
What a day I’ve had... waking up at @thesavoylondon, breakfast in bed, then a stroll around #CoventGarden, afternoon tea at @firmdale_hotels with my soon-to-be sister-in-law and being fully back on stories again... (it’s all there for you to see).
This morning sickness lark really is not very larkish at all - I’ve been gobsmacked at how much it’s knocked me over. But thank you so much for sticking with me and for your messages of care & support while I dropped off the insta radar. I’m starting to feel like myself again and today was a bit of a milestone for me. It’s so good to be back in your pockets again.
Oh Good Morning (and hello 2018! 👋🏼) from @thesavoylondon. This is my SUITE and my chin is still on the floor... it’s absolutely stunning.
I’m here with @bafta to celebrate the nominations, which were announced yesterday...
I have been pampered within an inch of my life - a huge thank you to @lancomeofficial and @pauledmonds217 for the presents 🎁 and for transforming me into my most glamorous self... and also to @swarovski for the beautiful gifts...
EVERYTHING is over on my stories for you to gawp at (I’m gawping) including the most spectacular view from my window... Oh, I also have a butler... and I had a massage en route from the hotel to the hair salon. Figure that one out if you can. Mind. Blown.
The snow feels like a dream now - did it really happen? Thank you @sparrowinlondon for this gorgeous EVIDENCE! (📷) @linastores should be up there on your London Christmas shopping list destinations... but be prepared to leave with far more than you can carry ✨
I’m keeping warm and cosy today with my new favourite @pureleaf_uk tea blend. If only instagram was scratch n’ sniff ;) You’re just going to have to take my word for it.. or if you’re lucky, I might sneak some into your Christmas stocking… You may remember their gorgeous pop up that I went to last week on Sloane Square - it’s still there waiting for you, with lashings of delicious tea and Christmassy treats and gifts! It’s 2 minutes from the station and there’s a pot of Pure Leaf waiting for you with your name on it :) #truelove #pureleaflondon #ad (The pop-up ends on the 23rd Dec, so wik wik! Get those skates on!)
Cosy Christmassy indoor picnics by the fire are the very essence of what this twinkly season is about for me and @MarksandSpencer is like the home of Christmas. In fact, I’m certain they’re in cahoots with Santa.
All of this unbelievably decadent and delicious food was delivered to my door by those clever M&S elves, and I picked up a few festive homeware bits and pieces too, to complete the transformation of the living room into an Alpine retreat - Rudolph would be proud.
We pulled crackers, indulged in beetroot cured smoked salmon, indecent hunks of cheese and crackers smothered in chutney and lazed by the fire sipping cherry glog and munching mince pies.
Christmas has landed, team, and the full delicious story is over on my blog today.
#spenditwell #mandsxmas17 #ad
Have you popped down to the Pure Leaf Poppy up on Sloane Square yet? What tea did you try? Please let me know your favourite - I'm still struggling to decide...
I tried to drive to see a friend yesterday. It would normally take 40 mins... except 40 mins later I had only made it down 3 roads. We turned around to come back and got stuck in the snow... so we enlisted strangers to give us a shove and we were on our way and home again one hour later... I love the snow, but yesterday was a day for movies (Hook! Never seen it!) blankets and coco pops. London could not have looked more beautiful - thank you @antbuchet for the gorgeous snap 💛 #letitsnow
You may have seen on my stories yesterday, that I made it to @TrumanBrewery for @mccainUK’s Roastaurant! To say I was in heaven is a gross understatement. I was surrounded by more crispy roast potatoes than I have ever seen in once place. Ever. And the roast dinner selections were absolutely amazing.
Mum and I both opted for roast lamb (although having now seen the turkey on someone else’s plate, I wish I could go back for seconds!) and we were both highly impressed with the meal we had - utterly delicious. She also plumped for charred pineapple, which confused me slightly, but she was delighted.
The whole event costs just £7.50 for a full roast, or you can attend their evening event and have unlimited roast potatoes and gravy for a fiver. And those roasties are WORTH IT.
The pop-up is on today until the 10th - just head over to my blog to book your space! #GreatRoastDebate #ad
I am still sitting here with my mouth open (eating coco pops) reading through all your wonderful comments from yesterday’s post.
Thank you so so much for all the well wishes, understanding, support, humour and outpouring of instalove - it was a very special day for me. (To clarify, my mouth is closed when I’m eating, but open in amazement between bites).
Yesterday, after our visit to the Roastaurant (did you SEE those potatoes??) mum and I headed to Clerkenwell to look at tiles for my new kitchen floor. (We’re bashing up the house, doing an extension and living with mum during this dusty bit). I love Clerkenwell. And I love any kind of home improvement shop, so I was in my element.
We then walked to John Lewis on Oxford St (took around 40 mins and spied this pretty door en route) to look at buggies. I took one look at the sea of wheeled contraptions and ran away. (HOW CAN THERE BE SO MANY BUGGIES?) We went to the cafe to eat cake instead. I’ll try again tomorrow. #smallsteps
So this is happening.
And I am over the moon 💛.
But it is also why there has been so much silence on my stories and so much regramming from my account recently - morning sickness has rather taken me by surprise by being so severe and lasting all day long... I’ve mostly been drinking ginger tea, eating biscuits and not being able to get off the sofa...
I’m so sorry for the weeks of quiet, for all the unread emails and for my general disappearing act and for not being able to explain - life rather came to a standstill these last few months and I’ve just gone with it. Sometimes, you just have to stop...
I have no idea what I’m doing.
I’m growing a human.
I can’t stop eating coco pops.
What an adventure❣️
Love letter to London... 💌.
This gorgeous ceramics Winter market is on this weekend! Do pop down if you can - it's a special one 💛💛💛
There’s no better day to discover the hidden gems and local small businesses in your area than on Small Business Saturday UK. To get you inspired, here’s my guide to my favourite small shops and foodie haunts in Walthamstow #ShopSmallUK #ad
Last week I discovered @pureleaf_uk’s new pop-up tea boutique in gorgeous Sloane Square, where I escaped the madness of the Kings Road (xmas shoppers are terrifying!), sampled a number of their delicious loose tea blends brewed to perfection and even took part in a Christmas food pairing tea masterclass. (Which tea would you pair with mince pies?) I can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon :) The pop-up is there until the 23rd Dec so do whizz over there if you get the chance…(you may find me sipping tea in the corner - it’s hard to leave) Full story is over on my blog today. #PureLeafLondon #ad #tea #bliss
Hot choc, bobble hat, skates, pretending I’m Ginger Rogers... To Do List DONE ✅.
