Alison Hammond ‘completely broken’ after unearthed video of late mum Maria emerges

This Morning presenter Alison Hammond, 46, rose to fame on the reality show in 2002 and was the second housemate to be evicted. In an unearthed clip, the reality star was seen exiting the house and being cheered by the crowd with host Davina McCall beside her.

After greeting her fans she was seen running over to her mum for a cuddle following weeks apart.

The pair were seen having a long hug with another loved one in the emotional moment.

Alison shared the unearthed clip with her 351,000 Twitter followers today.

She wrote: “Seeing my mum at the end of this video has completely broke me today!!!

“I couldn’t see her clearly either but I could hear her. Can’t stop playing it.”

Many of her fans flocked to her post to share their thoughts.

One user wrote: “She’d be really proud of how far you’ve come I’m sure.”

“Made me teary but also made me smile, Alison,” a second commented.

A third added: “Aw bless ya. I know exactly how you feel right now. Your mom was a lovely lady. Xx.”

Alison’s mum died following a battle with liver and lung cancer last year.

The presenter shared pictures of her beloved mum on her social media to mark Valentine’s Day.

“Today I dedicate Valentine’s Day to my beautiful, wonderful Mother Maria who passed away from liver and lung cancer,” she commented.

“Yesterday my family and I celebrated her amazing life and laid her to rest in a beautiful ceremony she would have been proud of.

“Thank you mummy for giving me the strength to move forward in the knowledge that your ok and with God in Heaven now.(sic)

“I will always remember you and try and make you proud. I love you mum.”

Alison announced her dad had also died in Jamaica just four months after her mum’s death.

Alongside a picture of him on her Instagram page, she commented: “This is my real Dad Clifford Hammond who passed away last week in Jamaica.

“I’m saddened that I won’t be able to make his funeral and saddened that he wasn’t part of my life as much as I would have liked but I still have a sense of loss and emptiness.”

After rising to fame in Big Brother, Alison went on to become a television presenter and is a regular on This Morning.

She currently fronts the Friday edition of the show alongside Dermot O’Leary.
