Caroline Flack’s mum shares intimate details of star’s tearful two-hour funeral in forest near childhood home

Caroline Flack's mum has shared intimate details about her late daughter's funeral.

The TV presenter was found dead in her apartment after taking her own life on 15 February, just weeks before she was due to stand trial for an altercation that took place between herself and boyfriend Lewis Burton in December 2019.

The 40 year old was laid to rest on 10 March, and Caroline's mum Christine has now opened up about the heartbreaking day, revealing that both friends and family travelled from all over the world to gather at Greenacres at Colney, near Norwich, to pay their respects.

The TV star's pals from Fash FC, I'm A Celebrity, Xtra Factor and Love Island as well as her 27 year old boyfriend were among those on the high-profile guest list who came to say their goodbye's on the 16 acres of forest land.

Speaking to The Eastern Daily Press, Caroline's mum Christine explained that the service lasted nearly two hours.

In a photo obtained by the publication, a white rose could be seen laid on the order of service, which had a picture of Caroline on the front.

Speaking about the day, Christine said: "There were lots of memories, smiles but mostly tears as we all remembered Carrie and the joy she had brought to all of our lives.

"All the family would like to say thank you so much to all Carrie's friends who travelled from all over the world to be there that day and who appreciated why we wanted to bring her back home to Norfolk.

"Friends included all the old pals she had either worked alongside or presented with on Fash FC, I'm A Celebrity, Xtra Factor, Love Island, friends old and new from the world of Strictly, the Bake Off and many many more."

All her close pals were given the chance to share their treasured memories about the late star, from they days of when she was just a teenager at school, all the way to the days before she passed away.

Christine and her husband Ian and the rest of Caroline's family wore T-shirts designed by Keith Lemon, which had a photo of the late star above words that read: "Be Kind".

After the service, the crowd went on to the wake at The Black Horse pub.

Many of her celebrity pals who attended the funeral took to their social media pages to pay tribute to their friend, including Love Island voiceover star Iain Stirling.

The 32 year old, whose girlfriend Laura Whitmore took over as the new host of the hit ITV dating show earlier this year, shared a photo of himself with Caroline.

He captioned it: "Yesterday we said goodbye to Caroline. It was a small services filled with her friends and family. [sic]

"The day was spent sharing stories, singing songs and of course some tears were shed. As someone who had the worst FOMO in the world I know Carrie would have hated missing it.

"And her infectious laugh was painfully absent. You were so loved Caz, by so many – I hope you knew that. And I hope you’re now at peace. X". [sic]
