Ellen Pompeo is looking to bring the Paradise book series to life in a drama on ABC, according to THR.
The 51-year-old Grey’s Anatomy star will produce under her Calamity Jane production company with Laura Holstein.
Based on Elin Hilderbrand‘s novels, the story centers on a husband’s secret life and a wife’s new beginning.
The potential series revolves around Irene Steele, who, after her husband’s perplexing death, learns that he had been living a secret life with an entirely separate family on the Caribbean island of St. John.
As Irene untangles a web of intrigue and deceit, and as she and her sons find themselves drawn into the vibrant island culture, they have to face the truth about their family and their future.
Married writing couple The Jacquemettons are set to write the script, as well as executive produce the show, along with Andrew Stearn.
Elin is also attached as an EP.
Over the weekend, Ellen was spotted doing a little shopping at a local market just after Grey’s Anatomy producers opened up about what’s to come in season 17.
