Joe Wicks continues to own the internet from 9am each day as his second YouTube Live session, PE With Joe, neared 1million live views this morning.
After over 2m people watched yesterday’s class – after the live version had over 800k tuning in at once – and got sweaty with The Body Coach, Joe was back for another session to tire out the kids who aren’t heading to school at the minute amid the coronavirus pandemic.
And while it may not be surprising for parents to be taking advantage of some exercise for the kids who are stuck indoors, Joe admitted he was completely blown away by the response as he revealed 954k logged on today.
As he began today’s live-stream, he said: ‘Yesterday was an amazing workout I was completely blown away with how many people took part so thank you so much.’
In only a few moments after going live he’d clocked more than 200k streamers, as thousands and thousands more piled onto his YouTube channel.
‘Thanks again so much for everyone who tuned in yesterday, and welcome to the newbies,’ he said, as he added: ‘It’s climbing so quick.’
Joe continued of yesterday’s amazing stats: ‘I was amazed at how many people took part.’
Following his debut online PE class yesterday, Joe appeared for a secondary round of simple exercises on This Morning, vowing to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield to return every day for them to stretch out as well.
Coronavirus UK lockdown: key points
The key points of Boris Johnson’s historic address are as follows:
- Britain ordered into coronavirus lockdown except for shopping and exercise
- The NHS will not be able to handle coronavirus if too many people become seriously unwell
- Police will be able to issue fines to people not obeying lockdown measures
- Shops, churches and playgrounds to close
- Weddings and christenings banned
- Gatherings of more than two now forbidden

Speaking about the inspiration behind it, Joe said: ‘I was laying in bed the other night, midnight, and this idea came into my head – PE with Joe. Every day, Monday to Friday, I’m doing a live workout on my YT channel, BodyCoach TV.
‘It’s not just this week, I’m going to be doing this every single Monday to Friday until our schools are back open, and the kids are back in school.’
Hundreds of cute photos and videos of kids emerged following the lesson (not least those of Coleen and Wayne Rooney’s brood doing the workout) that have given us as much of an uplift as if we’d actually done the workout ourselves (maybe tomorrow, ok Joe?) – with a selection landing in their very own Metro.co.uk story,
