‘Pokémon 25: The Album,’ Featuring Katy Perry, J Balvin & Post Malone, To Drop In Fall 2021

The Pokémon Company has announced that Pokémon 25: The Album will drop in fall 2021 and feature Katy Perry, J Balvin, Post Malone, and more.

Pokémon 25: The Album will be released by Universal Music Group’s Capitol Records and will include a total of 14 songs. The album is part of the celebration of Pokémon’s 25th anniversary.

Perry, Balvin, Malone, and one more surprise guest will each release a song that is inspired by the Pokémon franchise. Each song will be accompanied by a music video and “an exclusive merchandise collection celebrating each artist and Pokémon.”

Last weekend, Malone headlined a virtual concert on Pokémon Day in celebration of Pokémon’s 25 years.

“I’ve been a fan for such a long time, kind of grew up with it,” the rapper told Billboard. “Celebrating 25 years is a big deal, so we decided to do it together.”

During the concert, Malone performed a cover of “Only Wanna Be With You” by Hootie & the Blowfish that was remixed with the Ecruteak City theme from Pokémon Gold and Silver.
