Pete Wicks has revealed he wants to take a break from fame in order to travel to Nepal and live life as a Buddhist monk.

The 32 year old hopes to swap his life as a reality TV star to practice celibacy and uphold other Tibetan values.

The Only Way Is Essex star Pete is hoping to "find himself spiritually" as he surrounds himself with the Himalayan Mountains, hoping to jet off at the end of the summer.

His surprise change in life journey comes as he opened up on the hit ITVBe show about how he fails to "give women a chance" because he fears divorce.

Pete said: "I want to take a month or two off at the end of summer and just travel. I would love to go to Nepal for a month and live as a monk. That's one thing on my bucket list which I really want to do.

"Just live a simple life with no phone, woman trouble or stress. Lockdown has made me realise I've not travelled nearly as much as I want to.

"I've spent too much time working and doing things I thought I should but wasn't content or fulfilled. What's the point?

"You only get one shot at life so you need to live it to the max," he continued to tell The Sun Online.

Pete added that he hopes to recreate his time on Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls, which he competed on alongside Ryan Thomas and Lucy Mecklenburgh in 2018.

"One of the happiest times of my life was being deserted on the island for Bear Grylls," he said.

"You feel more content, less stress. You can feel claustrophobic in London or Essex. Sometimes I think I'd love to just f**k off forever but I wouldn't be able to go without the dogs."

Pete opened up on his commitment issues on TOWIE earlier this month, telling Liam 'Gatsby' Blackwell: "It's the fear of getting hurt, ain't it? Because you'll never know what someone else is gonna do, and that's the thing that I don't like.

"I'm in control of my whole life, but I'm not in control of how someone else feels.

"When it comes to relationships, it's the fact that I don't really know anyone that has been married for 50 odd years and it's this fairytale thing.

"Everyone I know has got divorced, split up, it's been a mess and it kind of puts me off, because I don't want to go through that.

"I still have in my head, I want the fairytale, I want to get married and I want to have kids and I want to do all that, but I want to do that once and I want to do that with the person I fall in love with. But my problem is that I’m not giving anyone a chance."
