Fans of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been celebrating the three-year anniversary of the couple’s royal wedding, which took place at St. George’s Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018. However, according to The Daily Mail, 2021 has become the second year in a row that all official royal social media accounts have ignored the big day.
Although the royal family are yet to acknowledge Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s third wedding anniversary online, the official royal family social media accounts did share a post announcing the pregnancy of Harry’s cousin, Princess Beatrice (via Twitter). “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year,” the post read.
The official social media accounts of The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall have also been very active throughout Harry and Meghan’s wedding anniversary, but are yet to post about it. According to People, Prince Charles and Camilla arrived in Northern Ireland on Tuesday, May 18, and their visit has been well documented on the pair’s joint social media pages. “The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall have arrived in Belfast to begin a two-day visit to Northern Ireland,” read one tweet.
Harry and Meghan celebrated their anniversary in a very special way
Per The Daily Mail, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are also yet to post about their wedding anniversary celebrations either, but that hasn’t stopped a string of royal admirers from sharing their well-wishes online. “Happy 3rd Wedding Anniversary, Harry and Meghan! Gosh, it all seems like a lifetime ago, so much has happened! Hope you spend a wonderful day today, celebrating your love & happiness!” one fan wrote on Twitter.
Elsewhere, it appears Harry and Meghan have opted to celebrate their special day with philanthropic work. As noted on the pair’s Archewell Foundation website, the organization has teamed up with World Central Kitchen and unveiled plans on May 19 to “build our next Community Relief Center in India, which is facing a devastating second wave of COVID-19.”
The pair’s Archewell announcement did not go unnoticed by fans of the couple, many of whom welcomed the news. “On their 3rd anniversary instead of making it about them, Prince Harry and Princess Meghan announce through their Archewell Foundation and World Central Kitchen Plans to Build a Community Relief Center in India,” a Twitter user wrote.
