  • 'BIG RESPECT'

Fans have backed Eric Dier after the Tottenham man confronted a fan who was allegedly abusing his brother.

Supporters on social media believed Dier was right to support his sibling.

@kyalMason1 said: “He shouldn’t get any punishment, the fan should be arrested, fined £5,000 and banned from every football stadium.”

@ffsDH_70 added: “Fair play to him for sticking up for his family.”

  • BLINK AND YOU'LL MISS IT

Jose Mourinho refused to watch as Tottenham lost to Norwich on penalties.

The Special One couldn't bear the pressure as his side were dumped out of the FA Cup at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Gedson Fernandes missed the vital kick as Premier League basement-boys Norwich reached the quarter-finals.

And throughout the shootout, Mourinho was spotted hunched in his chair in the dugout, while the players and his backroom staff huddled together on the pitch.

  • BOTTLE OF WHITE WHINE

Tim Krul insists his FA Cup penalty heroics at Spurs were not all down to bottle.

The Norwich keeper saved two spot kicks in Wednesday's shootout to book the Canaries a quarter-final place – after his coach wrote all the details of the Tottenham takers on his water bottle.

He said: “My goalie coach prepares me before every match and he gave me a bottle with all the details on.

“But I started mixing up the players and there was one point when I thought Gedson Fernandes was taking two penalties.”

  • MAKING A STAND

SunSport can reveal the real reason behind the 40-cap England star seeing red – because he was heroically defending his younger brother.

A source revealed one fan had been shouting abuse in the direction of Dier, despite him being one of very few Spurs stars to have a decent game in North London.

The player's brother, who was seated nearby, tried to calm the man down.

It is believed the pair got into a heated exchange and Dier jumped into the stands to protect his sibling.

Tottenham are not expected to take any action against Dier, but the FA are now investigating the incident.
