ARSENAL will not play again in the Premier League until at least May after the season's suspension was extended due to coronavirus – but it could be longer.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's contract ends in 2021, but the Gabon striker was laughing off over talks of a new deal on Instagram.

    Mesut Ozil’s agent insists the German is happy at Arsenal and has no plans to leave this summer.

    Ozil, 31, has been linked with a move to Turkish side Fenerbahce for some time.

    He has just one goal and three assists this season.

    And it remains unclear if Ozil features in Mikel Arteta’s long-term plans, with the playmaker’s £350,000-a-week contract up in 2021.

    However, Ozil’s agent is adamant he will not be sold this summer.

    And he claims the World Cup winner remains as committed as ever to helping Arsenal achieve their goals.

  • LOOK OUS TALKING

    Arsenal are reportedly in a transfer battle with Liverpool in the race to snare Ousmane Dembele away from Barcelona.

    The 22-year-old has flattered to deceive at the Nou Camp since joining from Borussia Dortmund for a fee believed to be in the region of £130million in 2017.

    And with the French winger currently rocked by his tenth major injury since joining the Bluagrana, the LaLiga side appear ready to cut their losses on him.

    AS report that the forward has been valued at around £70m, with the player said to be willing to make the move to England.

    But they state that both the Gunners and Liverpool are unsure about forking out that much to prise the player away from Catalonia.

    Arsenal target Thomas Partey is set to sign a new contract with Atletico Madrid, according to reports.

    The 26-year-old has emerged as one of the best centre-midfielders in Europe and the Gunners were hoping to bring him to the Premier League.

    Mikel Arteta reportedly made the Ghana international his No1 summer target.

    Partey currently has a £45million release clause in his contract with his deal expiring in 2023.

    Real Madrid are considering a move for Arsenal forward Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang but the Spanish giants have told the striker he is not their main target.

    Aubameyang is out of contract next summer and Zinedine Zidane is hoping to persuade the striker to move to the Bernabeu.

    According to the Express, Zidane has told Aubameyang he’s keen to sign him but he will not be his first-choice target in the transfer window.

    The former Borussia Dortmund striker as attracted interest from some of Europe’s top clubs and laughed off the idea of signing a new contract at Arsenal on an Instagram live chat with Kevin-Prince Boateng.

    The Arsenal captain has scored 17 goals in 26 Premier League games this season – which easily makes him the club’s top scorer.

    Ex-Arsenal ace Alex Song revealed he has ‘no idea’ why he was sacked by Swiss side Sion after refusing to take a pay-cut during the coronavirus crisis.

    Song was one of nine players axed by the club after failing to accept a reduced salary from controversial Sion chairman Christian Constantin during the pandemic.

    The former Gunners midfielder is reportedly prepared to lobby FIFA and take legal action against the Swiss club after refusing to take a pay cut when the killer virus halted football across Europe.

    Song and eight other players, including another ex-Arsenal defender Johan Djourou, were fired after either failing to respond to a WhatsApp message to the squad from Constantin or refusing the offer.

    Constantin wanted the players to take a ‘technical unemployment’ deal – a reduced payment of around £10,750 to help the club cope with the economic crisis after the devastating pandemic caused the season to be halted indefinitely.
