Man Utd news LIVE: Covid-19 outbreak EXCLUSIVE, Brentford game at risk, Lindelof LATEST, star 'had breathing problems'

MANCHESTER UNITED'S clash with Brentford is at risk of being postponed as the club have suffered a Covid-19 outbreak, SunSport can reveal.

Elsewhere, there were worrying scenes as Victor Lindelof suffered a heart scare and he was quickly substituted during Manchester United's 1-0 win over Norwich.

Boss Rangnick said the defender has had tests since the game, and "seems ok".

Rangnick said: "Victor can't even remember himself how it happened. I think he had a collision with another player and had problems to breathe.

"For more than 10 minutes his heart rate was higher than normal and he was a little shocked by this, so we had to replace him.

"The doctor has checked him after the match and it seems everything is OK now, but we still have to see how he is doing tomorrow. Hopefully he will fit for the Brentford game."

On the transfer front, Erling Haaland's agent has delivered a withering snub to United by telling the Red Devils they're simply not as big as their European rivals.

Mino Raiola has put Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and even Barcelona in front of United, despite the fact that the cash-strapped Nou Camp club didn't even make it out of their Champions League group.

Meanwhile, Paul Pogba has chatted with Rangnick about his injury troubles, with the German putting roughly a month on the Frenchman's timespan for a return.

Manchester United have been hit by a Covid outbreak that could threaten their midweek trip to face Brentford.

United had postive lateral flow tests returned on a number of players and staff and the Premier League have been informed.

The whole group that travelled to Norwich had tested negative beforehand.

Subsequently, there were positive tests among a small number of players and staff who had to be sent home from Carrington today.

The rest trained outdoors and training had to be adjusted to individual and non-contact sessions.

Football legend Paddy Kenny wants Man United to sign Aston Villa star John McGinn.

Kenny already envisions McGinn in a United shirt as he wants the midfielder to play alongside better stars than Villa’s current crop.

Speaking to Football Insider, Kenny said: “I don’t see why McGinn wouldn’t do well at Man United.

“He’s a brilliant player, and he has done so well for Aston Villa. He’s shown his quality.

“It would be interesting to see if this does happen. I can see him at United now. No disrespect to Villa, but I would like to see McGinn play with better players.”

Gary Neville thinks Man United were lacking energy in their 1-0 win over Norwich.

Speaking after the game, he said: “The biggest mystery of today, for me, was why Manchester United were so lacking in energy.

“I thought that they would have been a lot better than that, particularly when the players that were out on the pitch have had a free week to prepare for this match.

“It is a little bit of a mystery in terms of today’s game. We will know a little bit more on Tuesday night [versus Brentford], as will Ralf Rangnick, he is still finding out about his players.”

Ralf Rangnick is happy with how Man United defended in their 1-0 win over Norwich yesterday.

But the German felt United’s attack could have been better, although he singled out Fred and Scott McTominay for individual praise.

Speaking to Man United after the game, Rangnick said: “But the whole defensive line, the two no.6s, including David De Gea, did extremely well.

“Fred and Scott McTominay played a high level.

“The centre-backs and two full-backs were good. Offensively, we had some nice moves but didn’t always find the best possible solution in the first half.

“The body language, the intensity, especially in our offensive department, the two striker and also the two number 10s, they didn’t play at the same intensity level as we did against Crystal Palace but again, that also has to do with the way that Norwich played.”

Gary Neville wasn’t impressed with Man United despite their 1-0 win over Norwich yesterday.

United managed to clinch a late victory against the Canaries but Neville reckons they got lucky.

And if the Red Devils play the same against Brentford next week, Neville thinks his former side will be in trouble.

He said to Sky Sports: “It wasn’t a good performance. Against any other team in the league that would have caused them real problems.

“They go to Brentford on Tuesday night and they have to be better than that otherwise they will get beaten. I do think they will.”

Adnan Januzaj is WANTED by cash-strapped Barcelona as his contract expires next summer.

The ex-Manchester United prospect has shone at Real Sociedad and the Catalan giants are said to be interested in the creative winger, reports say.

According to Spanish outlet, Sport, Barcelona are hoping that they can make a January move for the 26-year-old as his contract winds down.

Januzaj was one of Man Utd’s brightest young starlets and promoted to the first team squad ready for the 2013/14 season.

In what was his first start for the club, the highly-rated hotshot scored a brace in a comeback win against Sunderland.

A promising beginning to his career at Manchester United saw Januzaj make 27 Premier League appearances that season, with four goals.

However when manager David Moyes left the club, a turbulent relationship with Louis Van Gaal halted his progress.

But Man Utd are after Kozlowski, as well as powerhouses Liverpool, Manchester City and AC Milan.

Manchester United have reportedly made Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag their No1 managerial target to take over from interim boss Ralf Rangnick.

Ten Hag has impressed with his attacking style of play which helped them top their Champions League group and send Borussia Dortmund tumbling down into the Europa League.

Ajax won all six of their group games and are currently on course to win their third consecutive Eredivisie title.

And according to the Mirror, United feel the Dutchman is the man to take the club back to the top and get them back competing for the biggest trophies in world football.

Barcelona are reportedly keeping an eye on wantaway Manchester United ace Anthony Martial.

The Frenchman has seen limited game time this term and has ultimately failed to live up to the hype that surrounded his £36million 2015 transfer.

And according to Sport, Barca are looking to offer Martial a way out of England after it was revealed the forward wants a January move.

Martial’s representative, Philippe Lamboley, told Sky Sports News: “Anthony wishes to leave the club in January.

“He just needs to play. He doesn’t want to stay in January and I will speak to the club soon.”

The Catalan giants are in the market for a new forward after summer signing Sergio Aguero’s health scare.

And loan signing Luuk de Jong is also out of favour after failing to impress.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the elite 300 club as he took his goal tally in Europe’s top leagues to another level.

In true dramatic style, Ibrahimovic, 40, scored in the 92nd minute with a overhead kick to snatch a point for AC Milan on Saturday night in Udinese.

Ronaldo, 36, and Messi, 34, have scored 483 and 475 goals respectively.

But now the Swedish superstar has joined them in spectacular fashion.

He has reached the 300-goal milestone in four of Europe’s Big Five leagues – with the Bundesliga being the only one he has missed out on.

And Ibrahimovic has picked up a trophy cabinet of silverware in the process.

Man United beat Norwich with a clean sheet yesterday and David De Gea wants more of the same from his team going forward.

It was the second consecutive Prem game in a row that United haven’t conceded a goal to Dea Gea’s delight.

And the Dutch stopper reckons the less goals United let in the more successful they’ll be this season.

Speaking to Man United after the Canaries win, he said: “It was a great game, the rain was like proper English football.

“It’s a massive win for us. Norwich improved a lot since their new manager came, so it was a tough game, for sure, especially the last 15-20 minutes.

“Of course we want to improve, we want to score more goals, but two [Premier League] clean sheets in a row is big for us, because we were conceding a lot of goals in the last few weeks. It’s important for us.

“We can take confidence from Norwich, from Palace and let’s keep going.”

The Danish centre-back is out of contract next summer alongside club captain Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger and Thiago Silva.

And Christensen’s contract situation, as well as fine form for the European champions, has landed himself on the radar of top clubs.

According to the Daily Star, Antonio Conte is interested in signing the 25-year-old, joining both Manchester clubs in the battle to sign him.

The Premier League trio will also face stiff competition from continental Europe.

Harry Maguire has praised Man United team-mate David De Gea after his heroics against Norwich yesterday.

De Gea kept a clean sheet in United’s 1-0 win over the Canaries and Maguire thanked the keeper for his contribution and wants more of the same from him in the Red Devils next game.

He said to MUTV: “David’s shown again he’s a world-class goalkeeper, a great shot-stopper. When they created the chances, he was there, he made big saves.

“He’s played some magnificent football in his career. Since I’ve been here, it’s probably the best form but that’s probably for him to speak about.

“It’s a big clean sheet for him. We haven’t had enough this season, it’s nice to start getting them, two on the spin and we’ve got to go again on Tuesday.”

Steven Gerrard took a cheeky dig at Michael Owen upon his Anfield return yesterday.

Owen, who left Liverpool to join Man United, asked Gerrard how he felt coming back to Merseyside since leaving.

Owen revealed that he hated going back to Anfield as a player and wondered what Gerrard’s emotions were.

But Gerrard quipped that he would of felt the same as Owen if he had gone on to join United.

Owen said: “I’m just wondering… We’ve all played, we’ve all gone back to Anfield in different guises.

“I must admit I hated going back to play against Liverpool. What were your emotions like going back? How does it feel taking a team to your home?”

As part of his response, Gerrard said: “If I played for Man United, I’d hate coming back, too.”

Cristiano Ronaldo is set to explore a new market and start selling tanning products.

The Manchester United ace already has a fragrance line, but is set to offer fans the chance to have the very same golden glow as him.

And according to the Mirror, Ronaldo has trademarked ‘Cristiano Ronaldo Origins’ for the project.

Ronaldo’s application covers cosmetics and could see the 36-year-old expand in that market.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner could eventually look to release other products such as make-up, soaps and anti-ageing creams – which seem to do the trick for CR7, who continues to look as youthful as ever.

Gary Neville was puzzled by Manchester United’s under-cooked performance against Norwich.

The former Old Trafford full-back said: “It wasn’t a good performance, I think against any other team in the league they would get beat.

“They go to Brentford on Tuesday night and if they play like that they will get beat.

“I do think they will. It’ll be interesting to see… whether they’ve done a hard week of training.

“Whether they’ve taken a bit of a chance with today’s game, whether they could get through it.

“I think he’ll take that week all day long, two Premier League wins, two clean sheets, seeing all the other players play in Europe in the week as well.

“I think he’ll see it as a good week but they will have to improve a lot from that type of performance to get anything in the next games.”

Manchester United beat Norwich 1-0 at Carrow Road thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo’s winner.

Ronaldo went down inside the area after a cross by Scott McTominay and looked to have been pulled to the ground by Max Aarons after 75 minutes.

It was a tough decision but VAR had a look and was happy enough to award a penalty for the visitors.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner took the spot-kick and beat Tim Krul to lead the Red Devils to victory.

Victor Lindelof was taken off during the match after pointing to his chest in worrying scenes.

Lindelof dropped down in discomfort and had his hand on his chest when United medics rushed onto the pitch.

After a few minutes, the defender was taken off the pitch and replaced by Eric Bailly.

Interim manager Ralf Rangnick said: “He was struggling to breathe and had pains on his chest.

“They did all the tests and he seems to be OK.”

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola has sensationally hinted his client will join Manchester City over United next summer – as they’re the bigger club.

Raiola told SPORT1: “Man City has won the championship five times in recent years, significantly more than United.

“We have been thinking for two years. We have clear ideas of where Haaland should go. We are not influenced by the market. We can influence [things] with a player like Haaland.”

Raiola also stated United have issued a “contract extension proposal” for his other star client Paul Pogba, who has “many offers” from other clubs.

Pogba’s deal with the Red Devils runs out in June and he has yet to agree to fresh terms, which has led to reported interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and former team Juventus.

The Italian agent wouldn’t go into detail about other suitors but insists Bayern Munich is the only major club that would find it “impossible” to land the star midfielder because Bundesliga clubs can’t match his salary demands.

Raiola told SPORT1: “We have many offers for Pogba, including a contract extension proposal [from United] We’ll see what’s best for him.

“Pogba to FC Bayern? Impossible – they’re not paying this kind of salary.”

Lindelof dropped down in discomfort and had his hand on his chest when United medics rushed onto the pitch before his substitution.

Rangnick said: “He was struggling to breathe and had pains on his chest.

“They did all the tests and he seems to be OK”

Lindelof dropped down in discomfort and had his hand on his chest when United medics rushed onto the pitch.

After a few minutes, the defender was taken off the pitch and replaced by Eric Bailly.

Speaking about his team-mate having to be substituted, United captain Harry Maguire said: “He’s in the changing room. He felt a bit of discomfort.

“I don’t really know too much detail. He seems fine and we all wish him well”

Manchester United legend Gary Neville can’t pinpoint the exact reason behind the “lethargic” performance against Norwich.

Neville told Sky Sports: “Honestly, it was a really strange one to understand what happened out there today, on the ball and off the ball.

“Those players have had a free week to prepare so I was expecting a ferociously-frantic start to the game with loads of high pressing and quick play.

“It was lethargic from minute one. On the ball, they were so sloppy it was untrue. They gave it away so many times it was unbelievable.

“I think any other team in the league playing against Manchester United today would have at least got a point or even won the game”

  • Kostas Lianos

Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winner against Norwich from the penalty spot to seal three points at Carrow Road.

Ronaldo took to Twitter after the game and claimed the result marks “one more step in the right direction”.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner tweeted: “One more step in the right direction.

“We know what we want and what we have to do in order to get it. It’s up to us! Well done, lads! Let’s go, Devils!”

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has warned his former club they will lose to Brentford on Tuesday if they play the same way they did at Norwich.

Neville told Sky Sports: “That performance, I think, against any other team in the league would have caused them real problems. They go to Brentford on Tuesday night and they are going to have to play better than that or they will get beat.

“But I do think they will be [better]. We were told before the first game, and all week, that Manchester United would be high energy and high press. That didn’t exist today and I am interested to understand why.

“But the most important thing for United was the three points and a clean sheet. I think he will take that all day long; two Premier League wins, two clean sheets and seeing plenty of players play in Europe in midweek.

“I think he will see it as a good week, but they will have to improve a lot from that type of performance to get anything in the next games”

  • Kostas Lianos

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has admitted the “time has come” for the club to cash in on Anthony Martial.

Martial’s representative publicly stated that his client wants to leave United due to a lack of game time.

Neville told Sky Sports: “I think if they can get good money for him… I probably would have said if they could have got good money for him in the summer, players that they’ve got then yes I would.

“I think that now the time has come. I think Manchester United have always been wary of getting burnt.

“Of him leaving for £25million and then going on to become a £100m player because he is a special talent.

“I just don’t think he’ll ever work at Old Trafford to the extent they’ve got [Marcus] Rashford, [Mason] Greenwood, [Cristiano] Ronaldo, [Edinson] Cavani, other players as well.

“I just think now is the time for him to leave and go and play regular football so I think it’s the right time”

  • Kostas Lianos

Manchester United ace Andreas Pereira revealed he wants to stay in Brazil after his temporary loan spell with Flamengo ends.

This comes after Anthony Martial’s agent publicly stated his client wishes to leave United due to the lack of game time.

Pereira told ESPN: “My wish was always to stay here at Flamengo. And now we’re going to do everything.

“We’ll talk to president Landim and Marcos Braz to make this possible”
