Teen traveller says husband pays for hair, nails and lashes as it’s ‘tradition’

As beauty salons finally reopened in England this week, women have been able to book themselves in for all sorts.

Those who want to come out of lockdown looking glam would have probably spent a few hundreds on their pampering.

But TikTok star Kathleen McCann hasn't spent a single penny on getting her hair, nails and lashes done – thanks to her husband.

Earlier this year, the 19-year-old gave her 523,000 followers on social media a glimpse into her beauty regime.

And ahead of salons reopening earlier this week, Kathleen told fans that her partner Dennis is the one who pays for the damage.

Wearing a beauty face mask, she said in the video: "The tradition in our culture is that men pay for nails, eyelashes – all your needs."

Kathleen added: "Like everything you need, they give you money for it because they look after the home and look after them."

Along with her manicures, the Irish traveller says her husband also forks out a fortune on her eyelash extensions.

In the clip, she turned to her partner and joked that giving her money was "his favourite hobby".

At first he shook his head at Kathleen's remark before eventually agreeing and nodding.

Posting to her 524,000 followers, the clip secured over 102,900 likes and hundreds of comments.

One TikTok viewer asked: "What's his job? [I want] my boyfriend to give me that lifestyle."

Another joked: "Can he pay for mine as well?"

A third fan praised: "This made me laugh, you two are so cute," while a fourth added: "He loves it so much."

Previously, Kathleen revealed that her strict parents banned her from wearing make-up, dyeing her hair and getting more than a trim.

She admitted: "I never got a phone until I was nearly 17.

"I wasn't allowed to talk to anyone that had a phone. I was 16-years-old when I put on make-up for the first time.

"I was 17 when I first went anywhere without any of my family members. I was allowed to go nowhere without my brothers. Nowhere."
