UFC legend Georges St Pierre open to Khabib fight as he admits huge offer could get him out of retirement

GEORGES ST-PIERRE is open to coming out of retirement if the UFC make an offer he "can't refuse".

It comes after unbeaten lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, 31, announced he wanted to face the welterweight legend after his next fight against Justin Gaethje, also 31.

GSP has not fought since 2017, when he won the middleweight title against Michael Bisping, but he officially retired last year.

But amid speculation of a super-fight between the 39-year-old and Nurmagomedov, St-Pierre appears ready for a comeback.

He told Canadian channel RDS: "I'm still in good shape, not because I have a fight coming up, but because I like to stay that way.

"Having said that, I'm not in fighting form. If I had a fight, I'd have to go to training camp.

"I just got into the Hall of Fame, I'm retired and I'm fine.

"If the UFC has something to ask of me, an offer to make that I couldn't refuse, they just call me, they know where to find me."

Nurmagomedov revealed plans to defend his belt against Gaethje in October before facing St Pierre in April.

GSP pushed to face the Russian last year, but after vacating the middleweight belt, White was not confident in giving St-Pierre a shot at the lightweight title.

After being denied his dream bout, the French-Canadian icon walked away.

But it appears for the first time White has given the mega-fight the green light, in order to honour Khabib's wish.

The promoter told ESPN: "It’s the last fight of his career the guy, the guys been great.

"He’s been great to the company, he’s been great for the sport.

"And, I like Khabib Nurmagomedov a lot and I would do anything Khabib wanted to do."
