Following news of Jared Leto reprising his Joker role for Justice League: The Snyder Cut, we now have a new trailer for Zack Snyder‘s alternate version coming to HBO Max.
Offering an update on the original director’s vision, the update teaser arrives in both full color and black-and-white. Set to be four hours long, Snyder’s vision of the film will feature five minutes of new material, new CG effects and edits that provide a wider story. Scored by Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” the nearly three-minute clip reveals a darker tone that noticeably contrasts the version that hit theatres back in 2017.
Snyder was initially put in place as director and producer but left the production before it was completed due to personal reasons. DC Films quickly replaced Snyder with Joss Whedon of Avengers fame to finish the film. The Snyder Cut will ditch Whedon’s directed scenes and utilize both retooled visual effects and cut lines. Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot and Ray Fisher are amongst the stars taking part in reshoots for the $70 million USD reproduction.
