Ashley Cain's girlfriend Safiyya says she can't get out of bed and is in 'unbearable pain' after baby Azaylia's death

AZAYLIA Cain's mum Safiyya has said that she can't get out of bed and is in "unbearable pain" after her eight-month-old daughter's death.

The heartbroken parent opened up in a moving Instagram post this morning – six days after Azaylia's tragic passing following a battle with leukaemia.

Safiyya looks emotional and tired in the short clip posted to her social media story, where she wrote: "Trying to get myself out of bed in the morning has never felt so hard.

"The pain that hits me when I open my eyes is unbearable, I just want this all to be a dream.

"I miss you, Azaylia."

It comes one day after she and boyfriend Ashley Cain lit a candle for their little girl in the Chapel of Rest.

Ashley shared a short video that showed the red candle burning surrounded by Lion King teddy bears.

He wrote: "Tonight we lit a candle in the Chapel of Rest to join others in lighting up the world in honour of my beautiful daughter Azaylia."

Safiyya added on her own social media page: "Light the world Azaylia, I love you."

It was Ashley's first public post after he shared his final picture of the brave fighter, where he said that his "heart is shattered".

The devoted parents were left devastated on Saturday when Azaylia passed away following a battle with leukaemia.

Earlier this week, Safiyya said that "every day is getting harder" as both she and Ashley vowed to make their little girl "proud".

Safiyya added: "A special thank you to beautiful Azaylia for teaching all of us the true meaning of life, I'm honoured to be your mummy."

Ashley had written: "I can’t put into words my sadness and pain, there aren’t words to describe it. I love you with every ounce of my body and I miss you so much already.

"You made me a better man. You made me the person I’ve always wanted to be. You’ve taught me more in your 8 months than I’ve learned my whole life.

Devoted Ashley and Safiyya had been documenting Azaylia's brave battle online, with the little fighter winning hearts across the globe.

She has been nominated for a Pride of Britain award – with people across the UK also taking to their doorsteps to "Clap for Azaylia".

At the start of the month, they revealed that doctors had told them they could no longer treat Azaylia's leukaemia, which she was diagnosed with at just eight weeks old.

Her parents had just raised over £1million for her to get specialist treatment in Singapore when they were delivered the heartbreaking news, with medics finding tumours throughout her body – including on her brain.

In the weeks that followed, Azaylia needed several blood transfusions as she started to cry blood, and suffer nosebleeds – with purple bruises also appearing on her body as her illness meant that her blood could not clot.

She stopped breathing several times and began to suffer seizures in her final days, with Safiyya and Ashley providing their daughter round-the-clock care alongside their close family members.
