Emmerdale’s storyline between Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy)’s son Arthur and Jai (Chris Bisson)’s son Archie ramped the drama up a notch last week after Arthur was blamed for an incident which – for once – wasn’t his fault.
Arthur – who has been bullying Archie – had the finger of suspicion pointed at him on Friday when a cabinet fell on Archie and he instinctively blamed Arthur for what had happened, even though it wasn’t actually his fault.
Laurel’s known about the situation for some time, but could she be about to confess all to Jai?
Here’s what’s been going on…
Does Arthur get found out in Emmerdale?
While Arthur has been bullying Archie for months, he confessed what he’d done to Laurel some weeks ago.
He has since turned over a new leaf – but after the incident with the cabinet last week, Archie lied and told everybody that Arthur was to blame.
Since then the pair have had a bit of a feud – and we don’t know how it will be resolved.
But it does seem that Laurel will be left with no other choice than to tell Jai exactly what’s been going on with the pair of them.
Speaking to metro.co.uk recently Charlotte Bellamy explained: ‘I think as a parent myself, you ultimately want to protect your child. You might not agree with what they’ve done — and, of course, she doesn’t agree and that’s where she’s completely torn, because she wants to protect him.
‘She knows that he’s had a really awful time losing his dad and now he’s lost Sandy, but she kind of wants to do the right thing, and I think the audience are already thinking that isn’t the right thing, that the truth is the right thing, but she’s in a really difficult position, because emotions run high especially when it’s your child.
She went on: ‘He’s going to be very unsettled; he’s going to be very rebellious because of something that she couldn’t control. She could never control the death of Ashley, she could never control his dementia or Sandy’s death. And we have to remember what Emma did too him as well.
‘All of these things, and he was such a young boy. What are the effects on him long-term? She couldn’t control any of that, so I think she’s horrified that this is out of her control.’
Emmerdale continues on ITV on Tuesday night at 7pm.
