It looks like there could be romance in the air for luckless mechanic Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) and Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) as the pair decide to go on a date in Emmerdale. But will sparks fly and passion follow – or is this a pairing dead on arrival.
Since his split from Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton), Dan hasn’t seemed interested in returning to the dating game while Mandy has been too busy with casino scams and Free Marlon campaigns to indulge in any encounters herself.
However, as the pair seem to be getting along together, they end up going out for a date. But just as things are looking up for Dan, he is hit with a bout of food poisoning, which seems to have originated from Brenda Walker’s (Lesley Dunlop) bid to compete with a new rival to the café.
As Dan deals with his illness, will Mandy still be interested? With a face from her past set to turn up, played by acclaimed director Reece Dinsdale, will he end up throwing a spanner in the works?
Show boss Laura Shaw teased: ‘We are absolutely thrilled to have Reece Dinsdale joining the Emmerdale family. Although playing very different characters, both come with huge stories that will see lives changed and big explosions in 2020. We’re all very excited to see these two hugely talented and experienced actors grace our screens.’
Reece added: ‘I’m absolutely delighted to be joining the cast of Emmerdale. Having recently directed a couple of episodes, and seen at close quarters the superb work the cast, crews and creatives produce, I can’t wait to become part of the team once again – albeit in a different capacity. Time to get my acting boots back on!’
