Holly Willoughby left fans in hysterics on Wednesday, as she sang on This Morning and sounded like a “howling dog.”
The 40 year old and her co-host, Phillip Schofield were playing Spin to Win and waiting for the first caller to be patched through when the classic song 'All I want for Christmas' by Mariah Carey came on.
As soon as Holly heard the iconic number, she began swaying along and grinning as she said: “Ooh, tempting.”
Then Holly used her hand as a microphone and joined in with the festive tune, as she sang out the final difficult riff of [all I want for Christmas] “is you.”
While Holly beamed as she happily sang along, Phillip recoiled in horror before covering his face in shock at the sound.
Holly was left with the giggles from her co-host’s reaction, but fans were also in hysterics after her musical outburst.
One tweeted: “What was that Holly?! #ThisMorning” with a laughing crying emoji.
As another posted a snippet of a dog howling and wrote: “Holly sounding like a howling dog This Morning” with more crying with laughter emojis.
A third added: “Please stop Holly singing” as their dog was howling along with the TV.
Holly’s impromptu sing-along also cut over the caller’s answer, which brought the duo back to the live show and led to some communication errors with the caller.
Though, Phillip’s response to Holly’s outburst might be the most entertaining, as he apologised to the caller and quipped: “I’m so sorry, you were drowned out by a noise I still can’t quite identify.”
Holly clutched her side as she broke into giddy laughter at his joke about her singing.
Fans were also taken by the presenter’s stunning, multi-coloured, sequin skirt from Anthropologie that she paired with a classic black turtleneck.
The festive ensemble is one of several sparkly looks that the presenter has worn on the show in the run up to Christmas.
As the TV star shared her outfit to Instagram, viewers showered the comments with compliments.
One wrote: "So gorgeous as always! Love the skirt." As others followed with "Loving this look, Holly!" and "Just stunning."
In the same episode, the duo had to interrupt their live broadcast with the breaking news that the Boris Johnson’s wife, Carrie, had given birth to their baby girl.
But as swiftly as Phillip mentioned it, he returned to the conversation in hand about the new Covid-19 rules in England. One viewer wrote on Twitter: ‘Phillip Schofield quickly brushing over Carrie Johnson having a baby girl is the most passive thing I’ve seen and I love it.’
Another echoed: ‘Phillip: we’ve just heard Carrie Symonds has had a baby girl, but more about Allegra…’ adding a string of laughing crying emojis.
