The Mysterious Benedict Society is the latest family fun series to be added to Disney+’s extensive library of content. The first episode was released today, Friday, June 25, on the streaming service, giving fans an insight into what’s to come. Here’s everything you need to know about The Mysterious Benedict Society.

The Mysterious Benedict Society has premiered on Disney Plus but unfortunately, you won’t be able to binge-watch the entirety of the first series.

The season will be made up of eight episodes in total with a new instalment being released every Friday.

So the whole season won’t be ready to watch in full until Friday, August 13.

If you love a show filled with adventure, cheeky and talented children and comedic performances then The Mysterious Benedict Society could be the next series for you.

What is The Mysterious Benedict Society based on?

The new Disney+ series is based on the young adult book series of the same name.

Author Trenton Lee Stewart wrote four books which started being published in 2007, following the group of friends on their missions set by Mr Benedict (played by Tony Hale).

The fourth and final book The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Riddle of Ages was published in 2019.

Later that same year, it was announced that the story would be brought to life for television.

The announcement for the TV series came in September 2019 but it was said that it was going to be released on streaming service Hulu.

However, in November 2020, the series made the switch, moving from Hulu to Disney+.

The exact reason as to why Hulu no longer had the rights to the show hasn’t been made public.

Nevertheless, the adventure series has gone ahead and has premiered.
