How is Joe Biden celebrating Christmas 2021?

The 46th US president has chosen to spend his Christmas at the White House for 2021.

This decision came as a surprise to many as Biden often likes to spend his spare time at his home in Delaware.

President Biden has in fact spent more than 25 weekends at his Wilmington home or his Rehoboth Beach house, according to US News.

Additionally, the president and his family will also not be making their annual trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands for the New Year’s holiday.

Is the White House decorated for Christmas this year?

First Lady Jill Biden has brought back the beloved White House tradition of decorating for the Christmas holiday.

She revealed the holiday decor on November 29, 2021.

The theme for the 2021 Christmas decor is Things We Hold Sacred.

"The things we hold sacred unite us and transcend distance, time, and even the constraints of a pandemic: faith, family, and friendship; a love of the arts, learning, and nature; gratitude, service, and community; unity and peace," the presidential couple wrote in a commemorative visitors' guide.

"These are the gifts that tie together the heart strings of our lives. These are the Gifts from the Heart."

Some Twitter users slammed the decor asking “where are the colors?” while others branded the centerpiece “boring.”

What did Biden say about holiday plans amidst pandemic?

As the Omicron variant has swept the US Biden is saying vaccinated people do not need to cancel holiday plans.

“If you are vaccinated and follow precautions that we all know well, you should feel comfortable celebrating Christmas and the holidays as you planned to,” Biden said from the White House.

On Monday December 20, 2021 the Omicron variant became the dominant variant in the US.

"Omicron is serious, potentially deadly business for unvaccinated people,” Biden warned.

“We should all be concerned about omicron,” Biden said. “But not panicked.”
